Hotel Noir is clean and comfortable. The rooms are spacious. It's the little things that matter. The additions in the room – like the mini bar and coffee machine with fresh milk provided – are a nice touch. The staff were all personable and could not do enough to help. When we asked for directions to a restaurant we were provided with a York map, then the hotel staff rang the restaurant and even booked us a table.
All staff members were a credit to the friendly and personal service we were given during our stay. We will be returning and I have already recommended Hotel Noir to friends.

How sorry we were that we could only stay for one night, as Hotel Noir was lovely. The location was great, as it was only a ten-minute walk to York city centre. The rooms were immaculate and the coffee machine was a nice touch. The breakfast was a great way to start the day with a long journey ahead. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I have already recommended Hotel Noir to three of my friends! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

Nice room and appreciated all the complimentary drinks. Very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed breakfast and thought the whole deal was very good value. Being able to park the car made things a lot easier.

The room was very nice, clean and warm with good amenities, and was ideal for a short break. The car park was quite hard to negotiate, being a very small entrance. It was about a ten-minute walk into town from the hotel.

Location was great, walking distance from York. The foyer area and dining rooms are well set up. Breakfast was excellent. Having helpful reception staff makes travelling so much easier. Our room had noisy floorboards but it's an old building and the rates were excellent. I guess you can't have everything... But Hotel Noir goes close!

I booked two rooms for a party of four friends. Both rooms were immaculate, and the facilities brilliant. Everything a woman needs to prepare for a night out was there, including free alcohol from the mini bar and a jacuzzi.
The staff are amazing (they booked our taxis and even ordered us a pizza) and breakfast is a delight – so much choice and all locally produced.
The service is fab, the food is lovely and the hotel is very comfortable, with a really relaxed cosmopolitan feeling.
This hotel is going to be one of York’s best, and it’s not far off already. We intend to return in June 09.

We would just like to say thank you for an enjoyable stay (3 to 5 November 2008) after our marriage on 31 October.
Our stay was very nice and quiet, all the staff were pleasant and the whole place had a very nice laid-back feel to it.
When we return to York we will definitely book into Hotel Noir, and will be recommending it to friends and family.

Me and my partner came to stay at Hotel Noir on 27 and 28 October 2008. I would just like to say thank you for a lovely stay.
We have been to York for the past four years and stayed at various hotels, but nothing can beat our stay at Hotel Noir. The room was fantastic, breakfast was great, the staff were very friendly and very, very helpful.

The hotel is very modern and has a small bar area. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was very nice. I would recommend Hotel Noir, and stay there again. It’s about 20 minutes’ walk into town.

Hotel Noir was lovely for the size, the staff were very helpful and we had no problems during our stay. The location of the hotel was a convenient 20-minute walk from York city centre, which is handy for those of you who enjoy a drink but don't like paying for taxis.
The rooms were a tad on the small size and the walls were thin but you get exactly what you pay for and I for one got a great night's sleep. The addition of the complimentary mini bar and Tassimo coffee maker were a welcome touch, as was the breakfast.
I do not have a bad thing to say about this hotel and would have no hesitation staying here if I'm ever in York again.
